This spectacular North Cornish coastal holiday house offers the very best of sea side elegance and country living.  Situated on a stunning 200 acre working National Trust cliff-top farm which stretches from the breathtaking cliffs at Beeny to the idyllic surfing beach of Crackington Haven.  Only minutes away from the ‘South west way coastal path’ and an adventurous climb down to the hauntingly beautiful Strangles beach.  Trevigue holiday cottage in a designated ‘Area of Outstanding natural beauty’ (AONB).

Trevigue is set back slightly from the stunning beach of Stangles, the inspiration for Thomas Hardys poems. Utterly unspoilt, this area takes in all the wild beauty of the Atlantic and the rugged Cornish coast. The bustling seaside village of Crackington Haven is only 1.5 miles away including a pub overlooking the sea and two lovely cafes are on your doorstep.

Living

The main sitting room has a relaxed atmosphere with a red bricked fireplace with a fully working Jotul wood burning stove.  Great for those chilly crisp winter days.  A panasonic 42inch plasma television with stereo cinema sound and blueray dvd player make whatever you decide to watch fantastic. Two glorious deep sofas are just the ticket for reading one of the many well chosen books in the house in front of a roaring cracking  fire.  The main entrance to the house is gained through a lovely light and airy porch with terracotta Victorian styled floor tiles.  The second sitting room has its own deep red bricked fire place with a Much Wenlock wood burning stove (made by Aga).    With two comfortable arm chairs and sofa this is the prefect room to get stuck into a good book or start a game of monopoly.

Eating

A spacious farmhouse kitchen with reclaimed floorboards and an old oak beamed ceiling gives this room  a traditional cottage feel yet equipped with up to the minutes appliances.  A state of the art Panasonic American style fridge freezer with ice cold filtered water on tap and an ice cube maker for cold drink after a hot day on the beach.  Cooking is made simple on the aga range cooker (gas hobs and electric double ovens).  There is a magimix nespresso capsule coffee making machine for that all important perfect start of the day (we will supply you with a hand full of capsules to get you going).  For those days you don’t fancy cooking why not book a meal from the stunning bed and breakfast next door.  Or if you would like a cooked please call at the farmhouse next door.

Sleeping

The master bedroom has an ancient oak beamed ceiling, a wood panelled wall and loads of space.  There is a television and dvd player for those winter days when you can have indulgent long lazy mornings of breakfast in bed and back to back British black and white films.  The king size bed has a gorgeously comfortable mattress with crisp Egyptian white linen and a super soft duvet.  White fluffy bath towels are supplied for those lovely long soothing baths (towels in all the rooms).

Bed room two has a very comfortable 6 ft bed zip and link bed which can be made into two three foot beds.  Oak beamed ceilings again and a reclaimed old pine floor with a large deep rug.

The first  staircase with a scrumptious striped carpet leads from the kitchen to these two rooms.

Climbing the open wooden staircase from the main sitting room will take you onto the  spacious landing area where you will find the other two rooms.  Room three has a single solid oak bed with a guest mattress underneath suitable for children.  This room has stunning far reaching inland views cross gloriously unspoilt countryside.

The bathroom leads from this landing as does the last room with a 5 ft bed with an old pine headboard painted in gorgeous Annie Sloan waxed paint.  The views from this room while you are in bed are amazing and you will want to lie there all day.  Great for seeing the sun rise in the comfort of a pocket sprung bed.

Bathing

Large upstairs bathroom with Victorian styled tiled floor and high quality Burlington fittings including a deep Edwardian styled basin on Chrome legs and a deep old fashioned bath for a nice long soak after a hard days walk on the rugged North Cornish cliffs or an exhilarating surfing the many local beaches.

Down stairs shower room /toilet.  An original Edwardian deep square basin with original chrome taps with stunning bright coloured fired earth tiles above.  A large and airy shower area with bright white tiles and a sleek glass door.  A powerful shower makes showering a relaxing experience.

Garden

A large private family sized garden with garden furniture and barbeque with far reaching views over patchwork fields and an ancient wooded valley.

Utility Room

A flagstone slate floor utility room is where you will find plenty of space to hang wetsuits and store your walking gear.  This has a miele washing machine and Bosch tumble dryer, ironing board, iron hand basin.

Other facilities dishwasher in kitchen, fast boil kettle, four slot toaster, microwave and quality panasonic cd/BOSE bluetooth speaker.

Parking

There is plenty of parking for two cars right next to the holiday home and any further cars can park in the large car park situated next the bed and breakfast farmhouse (less than a minutes’ walk away).    Trevigue cottage is reached by coming off the quiet coastal road down a private gravel drive that runs past the old 16th century farmhouse.

The Farm

Please note although that the cottage is situated on a very clean and tidy and quiet working suckler beef farm.
